I work in cybersecurity, but that is only one part of my story.

What appeared on the screen was never enough for me. I wanted to know what was happening behind it: what made the software respond, what made the hardware fail, and how to make both work again. Curiosity made me useful long before it became a career. Family and friends brought me their technical problems; later, colleagues did the same. Each problem I solved deepened my curiosity and gave me another reason to keep learning.

With time, that curiosity grew into a sense of responsibility. I became interested not only in how technology worked, but also in what happened when it failed or when someone used it to cause harm. Technology and AI now shape almost every part of daily life, from public services to the way organisations operate. Cybersecurity gave me a practical way to protect the systems people depend on and help keep important services available.

Six years in, that work has taken me across security operations, architecture, project delivery, leadership and consulting. I have designed security controls for new projects, led implementation programmes and advised clients on risk, compliance and governance. When work gives me the time, I also write about security engineering because I believe useful knowledge should be shared, not kept within technical teams.
